The India’s biggest car maker Tata believes that the car industry would decide the future of economic-friendly models. However, no detailed picture could be got about the cheap hybrid versions. Nano spread the revolution at the price factor of $2000 and entered the roads in last July.

India's Tata Group says it is planning to produce hybrid versions of its Nano, billed as the world's cheapest car.
Ratan Tata, the chairman of both Tata Group and Tata Motors - the biggest vehicle producer in India - made the comments on a visit to South Korea.
A hybrid vehicle typically uses two or more distinct power sources to move it, usually petrol or diesel and a battery. Mr Tata also said that low-priced goods would drive sales faster than high-end ones in India.
And he predicted this so-called price revolution would also continue to spread across the world. The chairman did not provide any further details on the possible launch of cheap hybrid versions.
The Nano, whose basic model costs 100,000 rupees was first delivered in India in July this year.
On July 17 the Tata Motors rolled out the first Nano to the people. The people’s car proved every car critics wrong and came out with cheapest price tag in the car market.
The lucky owner of the car is not yet revealed but Nano will be soon seen on the Indian roads. The car which is available in three variants Base, CX, and LX sports a 624cc engine with an output of 32 bhp. The rear mounted engine is mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox offering smooth ride. It is pretty abnormal to expect more features with a price tag of One Lakh. Though it does not have any addition features, the Nano is equipped with basic and necessary features that a car is required.
Among it’s all the three variants it the LX version which received the numerous number of booking. With is attractive colours, Nano is all set to give a tough competition not only to the small cars but also to the big players.
Tata Nano has come till here fighting all the evils. The world’s cheapest car has every right to be the centre of attraction. Sp just wait. May be you are one among the lucky customers to drive home your Nano.
The Nano launch created a great excitement among the consumers the number of bookings received reveals the demand for the small car. Seeing the curiosity among the people the dealers too were excited about Nano, they purchased Nano forms from the company.
But now after the bookings were closed the Nano forms are still piled up with the dealers .The dealers too accept the fact that curiosity led them to pick up nearly 2,000 and 10,000 application forms. But in reality only 30-35 percent was used. The forms were sold by the company to the dealers for 250 and which they sold it for 300 to the customers.
Tata had informed the dealers about non-refunding of these forms but now as the amount is huge the dealers requested the car manufacturers to refund the amount. Finally, the Tata have agreed to the dealers’ request.
The news of Maruti 800 phasing out spread like a wildfire but now the company says that this news is not yet confirmed. Maruti is still in the confusing point about their decision to take away the little wonder that one shined like a prince on the Indian roads.
In the phasing out list even Maruti Omni belonged but now there is a speculation that both the models would be upgraded so that they will be in compliance with the Bharat Stage 4 emission norms by 2010.
On the contrary it is any wise option as both the models have a very good sales record in the market. And phasing them out without any genuine reason would be cruel. In terms of M800, it is an open secret that Nano is going to hit the M800 sales severely. Now was this the reason that company was planning to take awayM800? The possibility is high but it is a competitive market and everyone tries to the position. If Nano will shine on the roads with the attractive price tag, then it is sure Maruti Suzuki too will come up with something that will not pull the consumers but also give a tough completion to Nano.
Now only time can tell us who is the winner as the competition is really high.
Small cars already dominate the
Indian car market and now we have more coming up. The upcoming Tata Nano has
created a sensation in the car market globally with its ‘one lakh price tag.
Every car major is working on small and low cost car for India and the latest car brand to
join the bandwagon of small cars is Toyota Motors.
The Japanese car manufacturer is working on a new car project and is expected to hit the Indian shores by 2010. The compact car, which will carry the price tag of nearly Rs 2.5 Lakh, will target the younger crown in general.
Toyota’s small car will be tough challenge to Nano, which is scheduled for launch by mid-2009. India is already crowded with small cars. Are the small cars stealing the lime light from the bigger cars?
Tata’s ultra cheap car Nano has experienced many problems related to its launch in India. Nano which was which was supposed to hit the roads by Diwali this year has postponed its launch for next year. We are still unaware of the latest launch date.
Tata was planning to roll out the diesel version of Nano sometime in 2009, but now we hear that people will have to wait a little longer for the diesel Nano. Nano would be also seen in more powerful version with turbo charged, 800 cc, CRDi diesel engine that will carry two-cylinder and is expected to give 30% more mileage compared to 800cc petrol cars.
Many cars as well as two-wheeler buyers even postponed their purchase, keeping in mind the Nano launch this Diwali. Hope Tata will soon roll out the Nano to the Indian roads
But the vague information says that Tata Indigo will have the similarities of new India V3 (which was unveiled in 2008 Delhi Auto Expo and will be on Indian roads very soon). It is also said that the new indigo will carry the Fiat's 1.3 litre Multijet diesel engine. It will fall into the cheapest sedan class and will be competing Mahindra-Renault Logan.
Looks like the car wars are on but is going on in a healthy way. To attract more buyers Maruti Suzuki has been organizing rural car fests. Recently Maruti Suzuki took a bold step by organizing a car fair at Singur, where Tata Nano’s production base is located. This reveals the guts of the car maker to take on the imminent battle with Tata Motors.
Under its panchayat scheme, the company has been offering special deals along with a special finance desk and as a result received impressive sales by selling 20 cars on the first day. As there are no car showrooms in these areas, the car fair is doing wonders to the company’s sales growth further strengthing its position in India.
The panchayat scheme has turned into a great success and has been receiving tremendous response across India and through this new concept of selling Maruti has sold 32,000 vehicles with 1000 cars sold in West Bengal. Maruti has rightly identified the pulse of the Indian market with the rural crowd.
