The new car from Skoda is sure to invite all excitement. Skoda might launch its popular MUV (Multi Utility Vehicle), the Skoda Roomster in India next year. The Roomster is a much-loved five door MUV from Skoda. Skoda is expected to launch the MUV in March next year.
The Roomster will pose tough competition for the upcoming Hyundai Santa Fe, Honda CR-V, Ford Endeavour, and Toyota Fortuner.
It is expected that the Skoda Roomster will be available in three different engine options such as 1.4-litre, 1.6-litre and a 1.9-litre. And it will have both petrol and diesel trims. The petrol variants of the Skoda Roomster will be available in 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre engines. And the diesel variants of the Skoda Roomster will be available in 1.4-litre and 1.8-litre engine options.
The Roomster will be spotted with a long suspension that has a high ground clearance, which makes it capable of off-roading. The Roomster will be imported to India as CKD from its parent company and it will be assembled at the company’s Aurangabad based manufacturing plant.
The advanced safety features in Roomster will include ABS (Antilock
Brake System) with EBD (Electronic Brake-Force Distribution), Dual
Front and Side Curtain Airbags, ESP and many more advanced features.
The colour options of the car are not available.
Roomster will be priced in the range of Rs. 16 to 18 Lakh.
Skoda has plans to bring out in India, a new sports version Skoda RS – Rally Sport. This new sports car will be launched soon after the launch of the crossover from Skoda, Yeti, which is expected to hit the Indian roads by the end of 2009. The two models from Skoda, Skoda Laura and Skoda Superb, have already succeeded in bringing out the charm of the brand.
A 2.0-L TSI engine with 200 PS on tap and a 2.0-L TDI oil burner that gives out 170 PS are the two variants available of the Skoda RS. Both the engine options will make the car more powerful and high-performing.
Not only a sports car, but the Skoda RS is a family car too which can be used every day. The RS is built on the 160-PS Laura platform and has sporty exteriors and interiors. A new sporty body kit, sports suspension, and lower drag coefficient are the other features of the car. Skoda RS runs on a 4-wheel drive 3.6-L 260-PS V6 Superb that was launched in India recently. The price of the car is not yet known.
Yeti, a new model from Skoda, will be launched in India by the first quarter of 2010. The Skoda Yeti has high seating position and other than this it is a premium hatchback. The Yeti, like any other model from Skoda will be stylishly designed and will be high in quality and performance.
This crossover was launched at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show by Skoda. The Skoda has equipped the Yeti for Indian roads which will be different from its European model. Initially, only the petrol version of the model will be available, for now, the diesel version will not be launched. Expectations are that, it will be provided in two engine options such as 1.8-litre and 1.2-litre petrol engines and will have turbocharged engine.
The Yeti will be an eco friendly car which will emit less amount of carbon dioxide. The high fuel efficiency and extremely spacious interiors will make it a favourite choice of the Indian families. Skoda Yeti comes with a price tag of Rs 10 lakh.
Just last month Skoda introduced an all new Superb variant
with 1.8-litre TSI petrol engine. The launch has surpassed the expectations of
the company and so Skoda
was fueled to introduce new variants with better features and technologies. As
a result the car manufacturer launches New Superb in diesel V6 and 4x4 petrol
variants.
The new diesel variant of the car is driven by a powerful
2.0-litre TDI that is mated to automatic 6-speed, DSG, with manual Tiptronic
gear changing and Pump Duse (PD) along with a high pressure direct injection
system. These technologies together deliver a lethal combination of power and
fuel efficiency. And if you take a glance at the new Superb the distinctive,
individualistic and exceptional design reclaims a 7-star experience on wheels.
The all new petrol variant with the 3.6-litre V6 4x4 variant generates a power of 260 bhp and
a top speed of 250 km/h. Under the hood the engine is mated to a DSG gearbox
that offers power to the road through a fourth-generation Haldex clutch
variable four-wheel drive system.
The launch of new Superb variants was followed by the inauguration ceremony of Skoda’s 61st facility in India. This new facility is the largest concept showroom established by the name of Tafe Access in Bangalore.
The new Skoda Superb 2.0-litre TDI PD and 3.6-litre V6 FSI 4x4are priced at Rs 22,04,943 and Rs 25,31,343 (Ex-Showroom-New Delhi) respectively.
