The global car industry is experiencing a slow down but Indian car industry seems to be on a roll. There are speculations that in the next five years the Indian car market will witness the launch of a million new cars.
India is believed to be one of the fastest growing market in the world and is expected to reach 2.6 million in the next 5 five years. In the present scenario the Indian car market stands at 1.5 million and the launch of new cars is raising the figure at a rapid pace. Priced at around Rs 64,950,000, Porsche Cayenne diesel is expected to launch by the end of this year.
German car maker Volkswagen inaugurated a new plant in Pune with an
annual capacity of 110,000 vehicles and commitment of 580-million euro
investment even as the economic slowdown is worsening in Europe and the US. The
Pune plant will begin production of the Skoda Fabia
compact car in May. This new plant represents the largest investment to date by
a German company in the country, Volkswagen has claimed.
