Fiat is targeting to sell 2,00,000 cars by 2012 with an aim of reaching a 7-8 per cent market share. Fiat is also planning to bring in LCVs and premium to India. It is expected that the company will launch Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV) in 2012-2014. The company will go on with constructing its network and manufacturing capabilities to produce its own market in India and also a sturdy base for exports of small cars.
The Figo is a small car from the Ford that has been awaited for since a long time has been finally unveiled. The car will not be launched now, but it will be launched only next year.
The Figo will be a four-door hatchback that will be available in both petrol and diesel variants. The petrol variant will be available in a 1.2 litre engine and the diesel variant will be available in a 1.4 litre engine.
In Ford Figo, one could find the important elements of Ford’s kinetic design language that include modern headlamps, grille shapes and sculpted bonnet of its distinctive face to the subtle integrated spoiler and chamfered window shape at the rear. The company has used the kinetic design in globally renowned vehicles such as Ford Mondeo, Ford Focus, and the Ford Fiesta.
The Figo looks very different from the other models from Ford. It has an imposing stance and a spacious and stylish interiors. The car will be a true companion for urban driving.
The Figo comes with a molded body side that has chiseled front fenders, a “comet tail” undercut in the doors and additional light-catching sculpting in the lower body side.
Any specifications about the engine or transmission are not known. The company will start manufacturing the car from early 2010. The petrol variant of the car is expected to be priced at Rs. 3.6 lakh and the diesel variant at Rs. 4.6 lakh.
Both Hyundai and Ford will soon have new small cars in the Indian car market. When Hyundai is concentrating more on the pricing of the car Ford is trying to emphasize more on the factor that theirs is a small car.
Hyundai had already announced its idea of a small car from the company that is priced less will be a good choice for the common man, something like Tata Nano. This new low-priced car is expected to be launched. It is expected to be an 800cc new model car and will be rolled out from the Hyundai plant in Chennai. It will be priced at Rs. 1.77 lakh, not as low priced as Nano though, will be competing against Maruti 800 and Tata Nano. The Ford small car, codenamed B517 is expected to be unveiled this month and will be available in the car market by March 2010. Available in a 1.4-litre Duratorq engine, similar to that found in Ford Fiesta and Ikon, it will have both petrol and diesel variants. The B517 will be also exported to other Asian–Pacific and Asian countries.
Ford has unveiled its SUV, throughout the country in a phased manner, with a new look. The new design elements in the car are chrome-accented lower grille combining with wraparound headlamps and new-look front design with a multi-bar chrome grille.

Ford is planning to launch a new small car in the Indian market. The car is expected to hit the roads by early 2010. The company has already begun the testing its prototypes, and from the start to the production phase, the car is expected to be localized around 85 percent.

However this plant is located in the Bommasandra Industrial Area on the outskirts of the Bangalore city and has made an investment of Rs 2.2 billion high-tech facility, with a research and development centre.
This centre will manufacture instrument clusters for cars, commercial vehicles and two-wheelers, electronic control units for power-assisted steering and body control units for interiors, immobilizers and engine management systems for diesel and gasoline engines.

His creativity was recognized and offered him an opportunity of an internship with Pininfarina of Italy-the world's leading automobile design house.
Vatsyayan re-invented symbol of passion and love will be seen on the on the wheels. Some of the other young designers were inspired were Ahmedabad signature landmark, Ahmedabad's signature landmark — the Sidi Saiyed ki Jali — that has spurred another NID student, Neerav Panchal, to design 'Ratna' which he calls the "jewel of Indian roads". A third student, Shailendra Petwal, was inspired by 'Navras' to create his design.
The winners of a competition on the theme 'Luxury Car for India' held by designers associated with auto giants like Ferrari, Ford, GM, Jaguar and Fiat, Panchal and Petwal will be also joining at Pininfarina.
